![]() The New York Times Licenses Airport Retail Stores January 3‚ 2005 New York, N.Y. January 3, 2005 MODA International Marketing, the licensing agency representing The New York Times, is pleased to announce that The Paradies Shops, an Atlanta-based airport concessionaire operating over 350 stores in 61 airports across the United States and Canada, has signed an exclusive agreement to create in-airport New York Times branded retail book stores. “We are very excited about this unique opportunity to develop and operate The New York Times branded retail book stores in airports,” said Gregg Paradies, President and CEO, The Paradies Shops. “The New York Times newspaper is the premier source for trusted news and the most respected authority on best selling books, and The Paradies Shops is pleased to jointly embrace the opportunities of extending this great brand.” Under the agreement, the Times Company grants The Paradies Shops a license to develop and operate New York Times-branded book stores in airports, including the right to sell New York Times merchandise, in airports. These stores will be jointly developed in the United States and Canada.
