MODA INTERNATIONAL MARKETING TO REPRESENT TRADER VIC’S FOR LICENSING

December 13‚ 2004

New York‚ NY‚ December 13‚ 2004 - MODA International Marketing today announced that it has entered into an agreement to represent Trader Vic’s in its licensing business.

MODA will develop‚ execute and manage Trader Vic’s brand extension program by leveraging the Trader Vic’s name‚ synonymous with an innovative and imaginative style of cuisine called “Island” food and drink (the “Mai-Tai” was developed at the original Trader Vic’s Oakland‚ California restaurant in 1944) and its 21 restaurants operating throughout the world. Trader Vic’s already has several licensing successes and is now focused on creating a dynamic strategic approach to take the licensing program to the next level.

“We are excited about beginning our relationship with MODA‚” said V. Charles Hufford‚ Director of Trader Vic’s. “They have a creative vision for further extending the Trader Vic’s name into a broad base of categories where the brand will have a unique positioning.”

“We are thrilled to be given the opportunity to work on this brand‚” said Michelle Alfandari‚ President of MODA International Marketing. According to Alfandari‚ “Trader Vic’s is an ‘experience brand’ drawing on its rich history and resources connected to the fantasy and relaxation a South Pacific island conjures up. Licensees will draw on Trader Vic’s as a sustainable ‘brand experience’ that offers differentiation to the mid-tier‚ specialty and department store channels in a variety of categories to include food‚ drink‚ gift/stationery‚ apparel‚ entertaining and home furnishings. The originator of Trader Vic’s‚ Vic Bergeron‚ was a marketing visionary who perfected the ‘brand experience.’ MODA’s job is to continue his legacy as the Trader Vic’s restaurants today do‚ of delivering products and services that meet or exceed consumers’ expectations. After all‚ that is why after 70 years‚ Trader Vic’s continues to be a vital brand.”
